Scintillation proximity assay (SPA)>
Cytostar-T plates>

Scintillation proximity assay (SPA)
SPA is an innovative approach for assay development and biochemical screening that allows the rapid and sensitive measurement of a wide variety of molecular interactions in a homogeneous system.

Microscopic beads contain a scintillant that can be stimulated to emit light. This stimulation event only occurs when radiolabeled molecules of interest are bound to the surface of the bead then blue light is emitted that can be detected on standard scintillation counters.

Cytostar-T plates
Cytostar-T scintillating microplates are the same size and shape as standard 96-well microplates but have been designed specifically for cell-based assays.

These are based on the principles of scintillation proximity assay (SPA) technology and requires the use of b-emitting isotopes, such as 14C, 32P, 35S, 125I and 3H.

A wide variety of applications for Cytostar-T scintillating microplates have been identified ranging from receptor-ligand interactions to studies of cell proliferation, drug uptake and efflux and in situ quantitation of mRNA induction.
